Walking with God

Walking with God has many rewards.  As I think about my favorite Bible story of all times, “Jesus and Peter Walking on Water”. For a moment, Peter was distracted by an issue and forgot about  the power and promises of Jesus’s words.  Focused on the storm in his life he  began to sink, but when he cried out for help, Jesus caught him by the hand and raised him up. Our faith requires us to focus on him,(the Christ) and not our circumstances.
What does it mean to walk with God? It is interacting with God throughout the course of the day, feeling his presence and receiving his strength and guidance. Your spiritual growth is directly related to your walk with God, inviting him at the beginning of your day.
John 14:6 says,” Jesus told him, I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you also know my Father. From now on do you know him and have seen him.”
When darkness comes in our life, we tend to think that God is not with us, but he is! No matter the source, the length or the intensity of darkness,God is always with us! The promise of God‘s presence is made only to those who believe in his son Jesus.
So if no one can go to the Father, except through Jesus, we must have a relationship with him, trusting that anything we share and invite him to, he will handle and walk with us through it.
Having a relationship with him should elevate our life, not pull us back or making us feel confused. God is not the author of confusion but of peace! Often times our flesh wants to please man, not realizing doing so dishonors God and make him feel that he let his son die in vain….
Relationship is everything and having one with Christ is rewarding because even though we go through the dark pastures, he’s with us. Psalm 139:11-12 says, If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will be night- even the darkness is not dark to you. The night shines like the day, darkness and light are alike to you.”
I heard Dr. Charles Stanley say….” God has a purpose for allowing dark times. The darkness will last as long as it’s necessary for God to accomplish his purpose. We learn more in the dark than we do in the light. Even if the dark times were walking to the light. What we learn in the darkness we are to share in the light.
Let’s think about Joseph’s story of darkness…
Joseph was sold by his brothers to traders, who took him into Egypt, where he was sold again to Potiphar. While in Potiphar’s care, God was with Joseph and he thrived …favor was all over him. Through it all he had faith in what God had shown him in his dreams. Many remarkable events took place, interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams was one of them. Joseph became viceroy over all of Egypt. Joseph’s story shows that when we fix our eyes on God and choose to rely on him daily, even the darkest situations can be made lighter. “God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love him“ Romans 8:28.
John 8:29 says, “ the one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone because I always do what pleases him.”
Jesus had no sin, but darkness came upon him, and he kept a steadfast relationship with his father and walked with him.
Just like Jesus healing the disabled man that was by the pool in John 5:8 , Jesus told him to pick up his mat and walk. Jesus knew it was against the sabbath, but HE IS and FOREVER WILL BE.. ,and in that moment the disabled man knew as well. To think, here I have a man thats speaking life to me to go to the next level , where as the Jewish leaders were so-called enforcing the law, but not trying to help him or aid him to healing. To be healed and lead by Christ is all the relationship we need. It takes reading the Bible daily, learning from the stories of the past and our ancestors that help us understand what’s going on in this dark and perilous world.
Therefore, Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding and all your ways know him, and he will make your path straight”. Amen!
Here are five ways to enrich your daily walk with God..

1. Start an end every day with God in prayer
2. Know what is and what isn’t  of God..
3. Place spiritual boundaries in your life.
4. Read and meditate on scripture.
5. Remember, you are an ambassador for Christ.
In Micah 6:6-8 when they asked, what should I bring before the Lord when I come to bow before God on high? Should I come before him with burnt offerings, with year old calves? Would the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousand streams of oil? Should I give him my first born for my transgression, the offspring of my body for my own sin?
Check this out…in verse 8 Micah says, Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you, (1 ) to act justly, (2)  to love faithfulness (3) to walk humbly with your God.
I pray that after reading this blog you are aware of how important it is to have a relationship with God and allowing him to walk with you daily, Amen!
Be blessed.. Angelia💜
